BIMcollab Ecosystem

BIMcollab offers a comprehensive cloud-based solution for managing your BIM products. This course will introduce your to the entire ecosystem which supports Issue management, model and data validation, as well as an integrated document management system.

Accounts & licences

In this course, you will become familiar with the different types of BIMcollab accounts a user can have, as well as where to use them. You will also understand how being assigned different license gives you access to various features within BIMcollab.

Interface

Understand how projects are organised and form part of a spatial structure within a BIMcollab space. You'll also learn how the My Projects page acts as your personal dashboard to give you an overview of the latest activity.

Creating your first project

In BIMcollab, all collaboration and sharing of information happens within a project. This course will give you the basics of project set up and the different team members roles a user can have.

Project modules

A project is divided into different areas where you can perform various tasks like Issue or Document management, view your models in the WebViewer, communicate through To dos, as well as share model validation resources for BIMcollab Zoom. This course will give you an overview of each.

Connecting your tools

Last but not least, you will know how to connect your project to your favourite BIM tool including BIMcollab Zoom or a BCF Manager. You'll have everything set up to start collaborating with your team!

How do I know this course is right for me?

If you're a BIM Manager, Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager or involved in BIM projects and are just getting started with collaborating in BIMcollab, this foundational course will help you get familiar with the interface and features in no time. We highly recommend taking this course before taking any other courses dedicated to a particular workflow.

Do I need a BIMcollab Space for this course?

Yes, having a BIMcollab Space is needed for this course. You will perform most collaboration within a project which exists on an organisation's private space. If you do not have access to one yet and your team is interested in testing BIMcollab's workflows, you can setup a Free BIMcollab Space which includes 30 day trials for all the advanced modules including Issue Management, Document Management and model validation.

Do I need BIMcollab licenses for this course?

No. This course will only provide as a basic introduction to foundational knowledge like accounts, the interface and basic project set up. It will not cover any specific workflows that require a license.

Is there homework to complete?

There is no homework or assignments. However, you will be required to pass 3 knowledge checks to receive the certificate of knowledge.

What happens if I fail the exam?

To pass the exam, you need a grade of 80% or higher. If you fail, you may continue to study and take it as many times as you need.

How long will I have access to the course material?

This course (and further updates) will be available to you as long as the course is available in our academy.
